The GreenWorks 25112 has one of the most powerful motors of any electric lawn mower on the market today. It has 13 amps and a 21” steel deck to cut your lawn quickly and efficiently. It also offers capabilities to mulch, bag or side discharge your grass clippings all in one machine. Seven height adjustment position offer a range of cutting heights from 1 ¾” – 3 ¾”, and it’s good for all types of grass. Unlike some electric mowers, it has large 10” rear wheels and smaller 7” front wheels which help the mower propel itself forward while you’re mowing.
2. Black & Decker MM2000
The Black and Decker MM2000 is another powerful 13-amp motor choice. Its cutting path is slightly more narrow at 20”, but it does still have seven height adjustments ranging from 1 ½” – 4” high, so it will cut your grass higher than the GreenWorks 25112. It comes with a 13-gallong grass collection bag and still offers the 3-in-1 capacity of bagging, side discharging and mulching. The warranty is a bit less than the 25112 at only 2 years, but its high rating and best reviews say it’s built to last.
3. GreenWorks 25022
Third on our list of best corded mowers is the GreenWorks 25022. It has one less amp than our number one and two picks at 12 amps, but that’s still nothing to scoff at. Like the Black & Decker, it offers a sturdy 20” steel cutting deck and also offers the three in one features all in the same machine. Like the two above, it also has seven positions for height, and this one goes from 1 ½” – 3 ¾”. It’s good for all types of grass and like the 25112, it has 10” front wheels and 7” rear wheels.
4. Sun Joe MJ401E
The MJ401E is the only Sun Joe that made our list, but it definitely deserves a spot. Like the Black and Decker MM2000, this one also has a 12-amp motor, but it has a much smaller footprint. This makes it a great choice if you have a very small yard and / or limited space for storage, as it’s only 14” wide. It has a push-button start and has three positions for height going up to 2 2/5”.
While the grass catcher on most electric mowers is made of cloth so clippings tend to stick into them, this one is made of a hard plastic, so it’s actually easier to keep clean and tidy.
5. GreenWorks 25142
As you’ll see from our list, GreenWorks is a very popular brand for both electric and cordless – battery powered lawn mowers. The 25142 is not quite as hearty as other models from this popular manufacturer, but it is still a great product and gets great scores in lawn mower reviews. It’s a bit smaller with its 16” deck, so it’s easier to store, and it has a smaller motor at only 10 amps. This is ideal if you live in a townhouse, apartment or condo where you have a very small yard and limited storage.
It offers both mulching and rear discharge and bagging but no side discharge option. It has five height positions from 5/8” to 2 5/8” and works well on different types of grass. It has smaller wheels (7” in the rear and 6” in the front), so it’s great if you have a fairly flat yard.
No matter which electric corded lawn mower you choose, you really can’t go wrong with any of these choices.
