1. Eureka AirSpeed Rewind

The Eureka AirSpeed Unlimited AS3033A Rewind is a great vacuum for under 100 dollars. While at its heart it’s a basic machine, it also has some cool features like an automatic cord rewinder that you can’t find on other vacuums in this price range. While it’s on the heavier side, it’s still not as heavy as more expensive cleaners like the popular Dyson models and at 19 pounds, you can still lift it up the stairs if you need to do so. It has the most power of any on our list with a nice long cord of 27 feet. Even better, it gets 4.5-5 stars in vacuum cleaner ratings. The hose reaches a full ten feet, which is longer than many cheaper models. The cleaning path is a good size at thirteen inches, and it offers five different adjustments for height so it can go from hardwood floors (and you can turn off the brush roll so it won’t scratch or throw debris around) to deep pile shag carpet without a problem. It comes with a dusting brush, crevice tool as well as a turbo brush that works great for getting pet hair off the sofa and makes it work more like a handheld vacuum. While it’s not one of the best vacuums for pet hair, it still does a good job but without the high price tag of those models. To back it up, it comes standard with a two year warranty from the manufacturer.

2. Bissell Cleanview

The Bissell Bagless CleanView with OnePass 1330 model is a highly rated vac that offers nonstop suction, multi-level filtration and cyclonic cleaning. It weighs less than the #1 pick at 15.5 pounds and has 10 amps of suction power. The cord is a bit shorter vs the Eureka at 25 feet, but it doesn’t have an automatic cord rewind. The hose is quite a bit shorter at only six feet, so this wouldn’t be the best choice for vacuuming a long flight of stairs. However, it has a nice cleaning path width of 13.5 inches and works great on carpet. One of the things users love about this under $100 pick is that the dirt container is really easy to empty, and it has good suction. Its only downfall is that you can’t turn off the spinning brush roll, so it’s not the best vacuum for hardwood floors. This upright is actually a newer model than our #3 pick below, and it has a newer brush roll for better pickup and it doesn’t make as much noise. It comes with the basic crevice tool and dusting brush and is backed by a two year manufacturer’s warranty.

3. Bissell with OnePass

The Bissell 9595A with OnePass has been around for a while and remains a customer favorite, still getting high ratings and being a best seller in spite of the fact that it’s not a newer model. The good news is that the price keeps going down, but it’s still the same workhorse it was last year. It has a sturdy brush roll that gets even deep down dirt from the carpet, and the dirt cup is easy to empty. It weighs in just under the Bissell 1330 at 15 pounds but has a bit more power at 12 amps. The cord is 25 feet long and the dirt cup is large at over 2 liters. It offers five different adjustments for height and has a nice wide cleaning path of 13.5 inches. It comes with a two year warranty as well as a crevice tool, combination upholstery tool with a dusting brush and a motorized turbo tool for getting dust and pet hair off your furniture.

4. Bissell Powerforce Pet

The upright Bissell Pet Hair PowerForce Allergy vacuum is great for a variety jobs whether or not you have cats and dogs in the house. It has a cyclonic cleaning system, multilevel filtration and like the other Bissells on our list, the dust cup is easy to access and empty. One of the best things about this vacuum is that its lightweight at only eight pounds, but one of the drawbacks is the short power cord that’s only eighteen feet long, meaning you’ll need to unplug and replug more often. It’s also important to know this is the only machine on our Top 5 list that doesn’t have five height adjustments – this only has one, so it’s not the best choice for deep pile carpeting. It also has a slightly narrower cleaning path of only ten inches, and it comes with a basic crevice tool and a combination dusting brush / upholstery tool. Even though it has a few shortcomings, users still rate it high in their reviews and say they have no problems with it clogging, even with clumps of pet hair.

5. Bissell Aeroswift Compact

The model 1009 Aeroswift Compact from Bissell is last on our list, but it’s also the most inexpensive. If you don’t have a lot to spend or are just on a tight budget, this one will get you by. It runs not only under $100 but usually under $50, and it still gets good reviews from users. One of the things buyers love is the Febreze filter it comes with to leave your home smelling fresh. It also has a quick release handle that’s been appreciated in more than one review. It’s also lighter in weight at only twelve pounds. A few of the drawbacks are that it doesn’t have a whole lot of power at only seven amps, but it does have five height settings and nice long thirty foot power cord. It cleans a path of just about twelve inches and has an eight foot hose. For tools, it comes with a bare floor tool, combination upholstery / dusting brush and a crevice tool.
